The Oakville Sports Hall of Fame now includes 47 honoured members representing 25 different sports — athletes, builders and founders who have brought pride to our town.
The purpose of the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame is to provide a place of homage for Oakville's outstanding athletes, builders, and founders, who have distinguished themselves in their contribution to sport; serving to honour the past and inspire the future.
Further, it shall be the objective of the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame to institute and administer a Sports Scholarship Program for the benefit of Oakville athletes. Twenty local athletes have benefited to-date from this program.
The OSHOF is committed to recognizing outstanding people who reflect our Core Values both on and off the field of play.
The daily commitment that turns promise into lasting achievement.
Success in sport is shared — with teammates, coaches, families and volunteers.
Sport should build people up; safe play protects athletes at every level.
For opponents, officials, and the game itself.
Character on and off the field of play.
Commitment to Oakville and a genuine sense of social responsibility.
Our considerations are inclusive of demonstrated strength of character, integrity, commitment to the community and a sense of social responsibility. We believe adherence to these values reflects Athletes, Builders and Founders who have truly achieved a distinguished contribution to sport.
While the primary mandate of the Hall is to recognize athletic excellence, another purpose is to help young athletes achieve their goals. The Athlete Scholarship and Assistance Program helps high performing athletes from Oakville with their expenses. The Award is $1,000.00.
The Sports Endowment Fund was set up by Donovan Bailey and Larry Cain, both inductees in the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame, to help young athletes in Oakville. Fund-raising is needed to help more athletes. The Annual Golf Tournament and the Induction Dinner are the primary fundraisers supporting our local athletes.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame, it is my pleasure to invite you to join with us in acknowledging and celebrating the OSHOF inductees. Success in sport is an integral part of Oakville. The spirit of community is inherent in the commitment of athletes, coaches, volunteers, and sponsors, who have throughout the years, made our town a great place to work, live and play. From Olympians to house league players, we applaud their efforts."

The OSHOF proudly recognizes outstanding athletes in our community who exemplify these values in action. Each inductee offers inspiration to us all. How often do we reflect on what really fires us up? We urge you to read these stories and be inspired.
Deep down, most of us long to exceed expectations, to burst through our perceived limitations and claim new territory. Aspiration in sport makes our hearts sing and our eyes shine. It creates moments when we sense that anything is possible — illuminating human capacity for remarkable achievements.
Aspiration fuels action that will bring about change. Even small positive aspirations bring focus and joy, and a call to action brings meaning into our lives. Making progress towards achievement expands our horizons.
True achievers such as these challenge us to summon up our daring, to draw on talents and qualities that we may not know we possess. They permit us to imagine our own potential as human beings. The achievements of these athletes may seem daunting and out of reach. They are luminary examples. Yet each step they took consisted of small choices and movements, many of which are possible for anyone.
We salute each inductee for their inspiration and passion.
